What Next
picture tomorrow deel 5

25 februari t/m 30 april 2017

"What the world will look like in the future, we can only imagine it in a limited way. It is different when it comes to our personal future. We try to map it out carefully. We all have our own dreams. career, love and family happiness, about a well-cared-for old age or about adventure and discovering distant worlds. Everyone strives for future happiness in their own way. The fifth part of What next? Picture tomorrow with work by Binelde Hyrcan, Jans Muskee and Wieland Vogel is about your and my dreams for the future. " Binelde Hyrcan, Jans Muskee and Wieland Vogel
"Wieland Vogel studied at the Design Academy Eindhoven and works as an independent designer in Amsterdam. With his objects he moves on the intersection of design and art. The interactive installation Come Here Sweetheart could be interpreted as an enormous cloud full of dreams for the future. De Groninger artist Jans Muskee makes monumental drawings with oil pastel. He draws very precisely and realistically everyday events from civilian life. The carefully staged situations are recognizable and alienating at the same time. It is the small derailments from the ordinary that give the beautiful drawings something uncomfortable. Binelde Hyrcan is Born in Angola and currently living and working in London, his work often deals with the absurdity of political and social power structures and human vanity. In his video, Cambeck, four boys on the beach of Luanda portray their dreamed future in a witty and moving way. Obviously the place where you le eft, determines what exactly you dream of. "
