Ricardo van Eyk, Cao Guimarães, Natascha Libbert

15 november t/m 13 december(lockdown) 2020

"People leave traces everywhere. In nature, but also in the city. With the exhibition Trace on Trace, 38CC brings together three artists who are fascinated by these kinds of traces. Ricardo van Eyk (NL) is always in the urban environment. search for what he calls "unintentional painting". His new installation at 38CC echoes the structure of the exhibition space. For her series Undermined, Natascha Libbert (NL) photographs traces in the landscape. The beauty and power of the photos contrasts sharply with the impact our actions have on nature: pollution and climate change. Finally, Cao Guimarães (BR) is a master at depicting everyday phenomena. World famous is his painterly and poetic video work Quarta-feira de Cinzas/Epilogue: Ash Wednesday of ants carrying confetti to their nest after carnival. Some of the works by Libbert and Guimarães have been given a place in Van Eyk's installation: Trace on Trace.."
