Remembering a souvenir as an object (part 1)

15 september t/m 11 november

"Nowadays we are daily busy capturing the world around us in photos, videos, on weblogs and social media. Archives are growing explosively, each local group forms its own heritage and many commemorations take place: in short, a memory culture has emerged. 38CC links this social development in an extensive program to developments in contemporary art and to the tourist souvenir. The core of the program is a group exhibition in several parts about the different meanings, associations and connotations of the concept of souvenir. more than the flat, mass-produced object. " Part 1: Michael Hughes, Ria van Eyk, Thomas Elshuis, Folkert de Jong, Korrie Besems and Anno Dijkstra
