Repeat 2.0 Repetition makes perfect (part 7) 15 years Place Stalingrad

"Erik Pape has been painting the busy Place Stalingrad roundabout in Paris for fifteen years. Because this Delft painter keeps repeating one motif all the time, 38CC invited him to the final exhibition of the Repeat 2.0 program. Repetition makes perfect. In all his paintings, Pape examines space. Space made by people with buildings, roads and squares. For the series Place Stalingrad he repeatedly paints the busy traffic junction where the metro runs above ground over a railway bridge with classic cast iron columns. In his solo exhibition at 38CC he shows First an overview. The paintings, sketchbooks and video impressions show that consistent repetition leads to surprising, new visions and perspectives. "
