"Haunted villages as a result of brown coal mining just across the border from Germany and the past glory of an abandoned military hospital and moratorium in Belgium. These are the subjects of the exhibition by the Rijswijk photographer Claudia Heinermann. Three documentary series are shown at the exhibition, which all three have Urban Exploring as inspiration. Literally 'researching the urban, the urban'. This can be anything, from an abandoned industrial estate or abandoned training grounds for the army to disused airfields or villages. Claudia Heinermann feels strongly attracted to these desolate places, on the condition that they harbor an interesting history in her perception. The series are: "Abandoned mortuary" (2007, Belgium), "Militair Hospitaal Oostende" (2007, Belgium) "Ghost villages" (2008 - 2010) , Germany). "
